Sovereign sets the pace at Goodwood Festival of Speed
Warwickshire based Exhibition design & build specialists, Sovereign Exhibitions Ltd, have recently delivered two stunning structures at the prestigious Goodwood Festival of Speed for both Peugeot and Citroën.
The 4 day event, which this year incorporated the innovative ‘Moving Motor Show’ on day one, drew huge crowds keen to view classic vehicles, concept cars and motorsport heroes. The 1200m2 Peugeot stand, designed to under-pin 200 years of manufacturing prowess, included classic vehicles, latest cars of today and the new SR1 concept. Showcase displays also featured elements of Peugeots early production history; with items ranging from the original wood cutting tools, to the coffee mills, salt & pepper mills…even a 1927 sewing machine.
The stand itself, built by Sovereign over a 3 week period, featured spectacular sweeping curved roof sections to cover the huge area, while glazed display pavilions and stylish exterior planting enticed visitors into the structure from the outside heat.
The Citroën stand, white and slender in comparison, used interactive driving simulators to capture passers-by, and featured the new Survolt concept, as well as the new DS3 range.
“The Sovereign teams did a fantastic job to deliver such a great final product”, says Sovereign Sales Director Andrew Hickinbotham. “Structures of this type and size are always a huge challenge, and given the exterior location, the weather risk, the amount of cars and display material, we feel these custom-built projects will set a new standard at this type of event”.
Sovereign have been working with Peugeot for several years on events such as the British International Motor Show, MPH, Autosport and the Commercial Vehicle Show. It was however, the first project Sovereign had undertaken for Citroën.
Nick Crossley, Peugeot UK Marketing manager, commented; “Having placed great importance on our presence at the stupendous Goodwood Festival of Speed, in our 200-year, I can say it was a job very well done. The weekend was a great success, always helped by the weather, and the stand looked refreshing and enticing – precisely a part of our brief, so thanks to Sovereign for realising our high expectations.”
