Thorns prepares for dazzling trade show double
Thorns Group is gearing up for two of the event industry’s most glittering gatherings of the year – Event UK and Square Meal’s Venues & Events.
The hire specialist will enjoy a high-profile role at each show, having been appointed sole official furniture contractor to each. In addition, Thorns has been named co-sponsor of the high-profile Square Meal Canapé Cup competition, one of the most popular features of Venues & Events.
The two gatherings also offer Thorns the opportunity to showcase its very latest products and to introduce customers to the recent additions to its ever-expanding team.
The group – the UK’s leading independent supplier of furniture and catering equipment to the events, exhibitions and conference sectors – kicks off a busy autumn show season with its appearance at Event UK on September 21 and 22. The gathering, taking place at Birmingham’s NEC, is set to feature around 300 exhibitors and will offer a showcase of the full spectrum of the UK’s meetings and events industry to thousands of visitors.
Thorns, which will be present on stand G502, will provide stand packages to exhibitors and will also supply furniture to other locations such as organisers’ offices.
Meanwhile, Square Meal’s Venues & Events begins just one day later – taking place in Old Billingsgate in the heart of the City of London on September 22 and 23. The award-winning exhibition promises to be the biggest and best yet, with four floors of exhibitors and more than 250 venues and event suppliers taking part.
Thorns will be present on stand M1 during the event but will also have its furniture on show across the venue, for example in seminar theatres, main restaurant, media centre and sales areas. The company is promising a blaze of colour, with organisers contracting it to supply furniture in dazzling shades of orange and turquoise, as well as white.
Product ranges on display will include Thorns’ highly versatile Vision range, with individual items including stylish Dali chairs, funky benches and eye-catching cube tables.
As part of its sponsorship of the Square Meal Canapé Cup, Thorns will support a popular event that involves up to a dozen caterers and venues vying for the coveted trophy via a blind tasting. Each entrant needs to produce 400 units of a single cold canapé that will then be marked by a panel of judges that includes industry experts, specially invited guests and media. As part of its support, Thorns is providing 1,000 Champagne glasses to organisers.
