ConCept G Exhibitions and Events has kicked off 2018 on a high note after winning awards in EXSA-LLENCE at the Exhibition Industry Award’s annual gala evening which recognises the South African Exhibition and Events industry’s best in design, event services, exhibitor campaigns, stand building and organisers shows. The black and gold glittering function was jointly organised by the Association of African Exhibition Organisers (AAXO) and the Exhibition & Event Association of Southern Africa (EXSA).
ConCept G won a total of eight awards presented by the Exhibition and Events Association of Southern Africa. Five of the awards highlighted design excellence, whilst the remaining three were prestigious accolades.
The ConCept G team was presented with the coveted title of best Supplier Company in Design and Construction – For Innovation, creativity, quality, efficiency, function and service. In receiving this award, it showcases ConCept G’s absolute commitment to excellence at every level as well as to the talent that the company nurtures and promotes within the design and exhibition industry. It is extremely important to provide a stable platform from which the design studio of ConCept G can conceptualise, create, develop and learn, and in doing so, awards and accolades naturally follow suit, boosting the team’s confidence and providing acclaim through outstanding work and achievement.

Winning the Memorable Event Award for the first South African Robertson’s Pop-Up Restaurant is testament to the passion, creativity, innovation, resourcefulness and hard-work that the entire ConCept G team contributed to the project. Building the restaurant from scratch, outdoors on the piazza of the Melrose Arch Food Court, with themed décor and furniture that changed at the end of every evening over the course of the 5 day event, attests to the uniqueness of the project and that of the ConCept G team, backed by the dedication to follow through on the project.
ConCept G won design excellence awards in the following categories:
- Best Custom stand 25 – 50 m2 saw a tie first place with the Siemens Healthineers stand at LMC and the Century City Conference Centre & Hotel stand at Meetings Africa.
- Best Custom stand 200 m2 – over for the Siemens stand at Machine Tools.
- Best stand designed by an external company and realised by ConCept G under 25 - 50 m2 for Lafarge at Decorex.
- Best stand designed by an external company and realised by ConCept G over 200 m2 for FAW at Automechanika.
ConCept G’s CEO, Gill Gibbs also received the prestigious EXSA Chair’s award in recognition of her dedication and commitment in promoting the exhibition and events industry through her position as EXSA Vice Chair, together with her role as EXSA Western Cape Chair. Gill has been recognised for her input, support and assistance with the transition of EXSA into a supplier and venue Association, the development and transformation of EXSA, along with arranging the EXSA Workshops alongside the Exhibition of Exhibitions.
