    Senior Operations Manager

     

    Salary - £55K - £65k + annual bonus

    5 days per week/HQ and onsite based role

    You will be required to work additional hours and weekends during busy periods.

    Weekend work will be paid at a day rate or TOIL.

    Job Summary

     

    The Senior Operations Manager is a senior role within the Operations Department reporting to the Director of Operations.

     

    The role is to manage the delivery of client projects working with multiple stakeholders across the Operations, Projects, and Custom departments.

     

    The Senior Operations Manager is a key member of the Operations team and an information conduit for the build process of client projects.

     

    The Senior Operations Manager can work pro-actively, meticulously reviewing the businesses installations and planning for every eventually. They can also work re-actively where unforeseen issues may arise to solve the problem.

     

    The Senior Operations Manager is a leader with excellent communication, works well within a team and can motivate to achieve the intended outcome. They will have a key eye for detail and be totally reliable.

     

    Key Responsibilities:

     

    • Collaborate closely with the Group Operations Director and Operations Manager to ensure seamless operations.

    • Monitor and manage the Schedule in order to be able to plan for upcoming works

    • Allocation of crew members and company vehicles for installations, optimising resources.

    • Negotiate, schedule, and coordinate project work with Build Partners, ensuring alignment with project budgets and timelines.

    • Forward confirmed Build Partner installs to the relevant parties

    • Review CAD designs to proactively identify and resolve potential build issues, ensuring smooth execution.

    • To identify and pre-build specific elements of custom or non standard exhibition stands when required in order to define the best course for install or connectivity

    • Liaise with the Design and Custom Departments as to how Custom elements will connect with modular components

    • To liaise with the Stand Build Team regarding the build of stands where complex requirements become apparent when reviewing the CAD

    • Source required components for affixing custom elements to modular components

    • Source required components for affixing custom elements, working closely with the Operations Executive for procurement.

    • Continuously seek opportunities for process improvements to enhance departmental effectiveness and efficiency.

    • Collaborate with various internal teams, including Graphics/Production, Custom, and Pick and Pack, to coordinate job loading, transportation, and execution.

    • Champion best practices across all operational aspects, fostering a culture of excellence.

    • Attend and contribute to internal and cross-functional meetings to support business service delivery.

    • Prioritise tasks and delegate responsibilities as needed to ensure timely project completion.

    • Provide regular updates to the Group Operations Director on task progress and status.

    • Develop build schedules for onsite teams across large installations, meticulously documenting details on the company's internal systems.

    • To be involved with the estimation process working with the Estimators in order to achieve correct pricing on complex installations

    • Provide onsite end-to-end management of delivery, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and quality standards.

    • Oversee comprehensive adherence to health and safety regulations, ensuring that the correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is worn and readily available to staff members, while also maintaining overall health and safety standards across all operations.

    • Manage/oversee onsite deliver and load out of equipment by 3rd party logistics and onsite logistics companies

    • Maintain onsite productivity of build and break teams, overseeing installation progress.

    • To update the Group Operations Director, PMs and AMs with progress of builds

    • Coordinate with various onsite suppliers such as electrical, flooring, rigging, furniture and internet

    • Conduct spot checks on the work of third-party service providers to ensure compliance with quality standards.

    • To travel to site to oversee and coordinate full exhibitions or large multi stand installations this could include evening and weekend work

    • To ensure on-site teams finish installations to high level, i.e, hoovering, steaming fabrics, cable management, flooring, trim etc.

    • Ensure installtions are taken down post event, packed and loaded carefully to avoid damage. This will require supervision and onsite training.

    • To drive to and from jobs when required.

    • To oversee construction of installations to the agreed client specification and to the highest standards

    • Adhere to the Organisers and Venues H&S regulations when loading and unloading equipment and building installations

    • To safely manage the de-rig of installations looking out for the entire I&D de-rig team, which can often be rather hectic due to the short time allowed and the number of other contractors who are onsite at the same time

     

     

    Additional Responsibilities:

     

    • Support the Pick & Pack team with inventory management and order fulfillment processes.

    • Assist the Pick & Pack and Warehouse-Goods in/out teams with loading and unloading tasks to ensure efficient warehouse operations.

    • Collaborate with the Warehouse-Goods in/out Manager to maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment.

    • Arrange external logistics services and access for onsite installations as required.

    • Source additional services and suppliers as needed on an ad hoc basis.

    • Participate in relevant training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.

    • In the absence of a Project Manager, interact with clients to ensure satisfactory project completion, maintaining professionalism and rapport.

    Coordinate logistics outside of company vehicles for Skyline Whitespace installations, ensuring seamless execution.

     

    As duties and responsibilities change, the job description will be reviewed and amended in consultation with the Group Operations Director.

     

    The Senior Operations Manager will carry out any other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job as requested by the Line manager or Head of Department.
