Being the incumbent cleaning contractor at “The Print works” London's newest events and music venue, which opened in Feb 2017 and has now become renowned literally European wide for its Live music events, we are used to many diverse requests especially as they have a live capacity of 4800.

In November 2017 the venue management (Broadwick Events) told us that they were having the builders in during January –February 2018 to carry out £1 million worth of major building demolition works in order to increase capacity and provide a more fulfilling customer experience.

After the buildings works in excess of £1 million worth of lighting and sound systems were to be installed, the venue had to be clean and dust free.

So when the build completion dead line came and went and with the venue reopening for its first 2018 season of events we were given just a week to carry out “a pre event clean”.

This was no “a couple of hoovers and a mop”. We engaged our teams to work throughout the coming days and nights to ensure that the venue was ready and fit for purpose.

Ride on sweeping –floor washing machines and shovels replaced the hoovers, portable compactors and skips replaced the bin liners and in order to clear the building of dust industrial Bowser power washers were used with scaffolding and access equipment to remove the dust from the walls all the way up to the top 25 meters; in fact the entire inside infrastructure of the building received a “wash n brush up”.

With the cleaning finishing on time and incredibly on budget the building was handed over on Sunday 25.2.18 with a client comment of “from where we were, to today, I am now wearing white trainers and they are not getting dirty; well done”.

The “Quick books”Conference took place on Monday 26.2.18, which was quickly followed by “The bongo Bingo” Music event on 1.3.18 and then a 5000 attendance live music event on 3.2.2018, so business as usual...

..proof that the cleaning operations are an integral and important part of a venues /organisers plans and requirements.
