As a professional magician and variety entertainer, I help businesses stand out from the crowd, spark curiosity, and turn passing visitors into engaged potential customers. My journey into the world of entertainment started when I was just ten years old, hanging out in a quirky little juggling shop in Manchester while my mum did the shopping. The shop, Mushy Pea (sadly long gone), wasn’t exactly packed with customers, so the staff had time to teach me a whole range of circus skills. Toward the back was a small magic department, run by a guy named Simon. He showed me a few tricks, and that spark lit a fire. A deck of magic cards gifted by my brother sealed the deal, and I’ve been obsessed ever since. Fast forward 30 years, and that same passion drives every performance I give.

I founded Matthew J Magic & Variety Arts to combine my love of magic, circus skills, and variety entertainment into unique, engaging experiences for corporate clients. I’ve worked across the UK and internationally, helping brands and businesses create impactful moments that people remember long after the event is over.

At trade shows, I specialise in interactive magic and crowd-gathering techniques designed to stop people in their tracks. I don’t just perform – I engage. I create mini-spectacles that draw eyes, start conversations, and encourage visitors to stay longer at your stand.
