Symbiosis has joined the Andover College Industry Curriculum Board, strengthening links between education and the creative industries and inspiring the next generation of designers.
The Industry Curriculum Board brings together local employers and educators to ensure that courses remain aligned with real-world industry needs. Members meet once a term to discuss trends, skills development, and ways to better connect students with professional opportunities.
The invitation to join came from Carlie Windows, Curriculum Leader for Art & Design at Andover College, who said:
“We are delighted to see Zoe Linscer, one of our alumni, now working with Symbiosis. It’s always wonderful to see our former students thriving in the creative sector. By working closely with companies like Symbiosis, we can better understand industry needs and reflect them in our curriculum to prepare students for successful creative careers.”
Symbiosis has strong connections to Andover College — not only through Zoe but also through Luke Nulty, the company’s Design & Print Studio Manager, and Nigel Targett, Symbiosis Managing Director — both proud alumni. Together, they represent the strong creative legacy of Andover College and the exciting career paths available to its students.
Both Luke and Zoe will share their career journeys with students, offering valuable insight into the many creative pathways available after college.
As part of the collaboration, Symbiosis and the College are also exploring live project opportunities for students. A proposed live brief for first-year A Level 3D Design students would give learners the chance to respond to a real-world creative challenge, with the curriculum adapted to incorporate the project.
At the end of each project, students take part in a ‘Design Collection’ presentation, displaying their work for review and feedback. Zoe and Luke, alongside members of the Symbiosis team, will be invited to support these sessions — offering professional critique, sharing advice, and getting a sneak peek at some of Andover’s emerging creative talent. There is also potential for student work placements within Symbiosis, providing valuable hands-on experience within the industry.
As members of the Board, the Symbiosis team will also highlight the excitement and variety of working in the events and exhibitions industry — from designing exhibition stands and brand activations to delivering event branding for leading names across the UK, Europe, and around the world. Through their involvement, the team will help raise the profile of the events and exhibitions industry as an exciting and innovative sector for creative young people to build their careers.
“As an Andover College alumnus myself, it’s fantastic to see how the College has grown and continues to nurture creative talent,” said Nigel Targett, Managing Director of Symbiosis. “Many of our team — including Zoe and Luke — started their journeys here, so being able to give something back feels incredibly rewarding. We’re excited to help students see how their creativity can evolve into a career, and to show them just how dynamic and global the design and events industry can be.”
This partnership reflects Symbiosis’s ongoing commitment to nurturing local talent and strengthening the region’s creative community.
