February 28, 2019 – GES, a global full-service provider for live events and exhibits announced the promotion of Jason Popp to president, GES EMEA.

Popp has 25 years of global leadership experience. He joined GES 11 years ago as Chief Operating Officer for the company’s UK, European and Middle Eastern business, and in 2011 was promoted to Executive Vice President, GES International. While in this role, Popp has spearheaded a period of robust growth; expanding the range of products and services and opening regional offices in Amsterdam and the Middle East. He has also led important strategic acquisitions with the purchase of award-winning technology and data businesses N200 and Poken (now trading as GES Event Intelligence) and leading technical production and AV company Blitz (now trading as Blitz, a GES company).

“Jason has been a vital part of our GES international team for more than a decade,” said Steve Moster, president and CEO of Viad. “His strong global leadership experience, rigorous strategic thinking, and the ability to collaborate with global clients make him the perfect choice for this role.  We look to Jason and his team to continue to lead our efforts as GES continues to deliver industry leading, experiential services to clients within the EMEA region.”

“Our clients are increasingly global brands, operating across borders and working in a truly multi-cultural and connected world,” added Popp. “To be able to match their ambition with our truly international perspective, our 1,000 people strong, culturally diverse and creative team makes us the perfect partner to brands looking to create impactful and consistent experiences across multiple geographies. It’s a real privilege to be leading the EMEA team at such an exciting time for the live event industry. I couldn’t be more delighted.”

Popp holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BBA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and has operated in complex international environments including 10 years spent living and working outside of the United States. Prior to joining GES, he held numerous senior positions in companies including L.E.K. Consulting and Royal Dutch/Shell International.
