In this session, we will be talking to an organiser, service supplier and full service contractor about what needs to change; what would be a benefit in changing; and where they think we might have issues in resurrecting events and the supply chain in 2021.

Lou Kiwanuka
As Owner and founder of The Shaper Group, Lou has run some of the largest and technically challenging events in the industry during her 25 years in the business as Operations, Show Owner, Venue Manager and Service Supplier. As an active ESSA member since 2015, Lou was at the heart of the CDM discussion and more recently has focused her energies on driving efficiencies and change, in order to bring a more dynamic but calmer, safer and more sustainable working environment within the Events Industry.  

Laura Cole
Laura is a NEBOSH qualified Freelance Operations Manager with 15years experience in the Exhibitions & Events Industry.  Her journey into Ops began in 2008 when she joined Clarion Events as an operations assistant supporting both the B2B and B2C sectors, she progressed to Operations Management before deciding to take the plunge and successfully launch her own Operations company ‘LC Events Ltd’ in 2015. Laura continues to support a wide range of clients both in the UK and Overseas. "I’m the person who takes care of the planning and logistics for your event, ensuring everything runs smoothly from start to finish, from both an Operational and Safety standpoint"

 

Kerrie Kemp
Kerrie has over 20 years of experience in the exhibitions industry. She joined UBM from 2006, which later combined with Informa Markets in 2018, where she is responsible for Operational delivery across EMEA. Prior to this, Kerrie worked for organisers such as Imark, VNU Exhibitions, and Ithaca Media, starting her career as an Operations Assistant, over time progressing to her current role as Regional Operations Director, EMEA at Informa Markets. Kerrie directs the Operations for over 65 physical events in both the B2B and B2C market sectors and is responsible for leading a team of around 40 ops professionals across the UK, Europe, Middle East and North Africa. 

Andy Pearce
Andy Pearce has worked in the event industry for over 38 years, including 26 years with one of the UK’s largest exhibition companies. He left the business to fulfil his dream and successfully set up his own exhibition company, Exhibit3Sixty, together with his friend and business partner Alan Craner.Now in his fourth decade in the industry he prides himself on the many relationships he has developed over the years. Andy has an extensive portfolio of clients and offers not only a wealth of experience but a personal service that is second to none.


Chris Preston
Chris has built a career focused on delivering premium customer experiences with a foundation of operational excellence with UK and global businesses and has held various executive positions across both the B2B and B2C sectors; Chris has a strong background in hospitality and the automotive industry, having worked with companies such as DaimlerChrysler, Al Futtaim and Al Fahim in the UAE, as well as, BMW and Big Bus Tours. Having worked in the UAE for 16 years and an equal number based in the UK, immediately prior to Freeman he led a global tourism business. Now leading a team of 300 in the EMEA region for Freeman, Chris leads the strategy and delivery of all aspects of the brand experience, including event delivery and corporate custom stand build practice.
