ULEZ is central to the Mayor of London's plans to help clean up air polution in the capital.
From April 2019, the central London Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) will be operational 24 hours a day, seven days a week, all year round to help clean up London's toxic air which contributes to thousands of early deaths each year.
Who is affected?
Most vehicles, including cars and vans will need to meet new, tighter exhaust emission standards (ULEZ standards) or pay a daily charge to travel within the area of the ULEZ. (these charges are in addition to the central London Congestion Charge).
