UK-Switzerland Services Mobility Agreement
The UK and Switzerland have secured a far-reaching agreement on services that maintains high quality access for UK service suppliers to the Swiss market.
The UK-Switzerland Services Mobility Agreement will allow UK professionals and other service workers to continue travelling freely to Switzerland and work visa-free for up to 90 days a year.
- Under the Services Mobility Agreement (SMA) UK suppliers will be able to do business in Switzerland as they do now.
- There will be no economic interest tests, no work permits and no lengthy processing times needed for the first 90 days.
- This offer will be open to businesses of all sizes, including the self-employed.
- The SMA also contains provisions on the recognition of professional qualifications.
- The agreement will last for two years to ensure continuity immediately after the transition period, though the UK and Switzerland may jointly decide to extend it.
